Don't use it in a sunny spot.

This thermometer has a backing of aluminium. When fixed on the garden fence, it heated up in the sun. At 4.30 pm on March 26th, it read 33 degrees. When I moved it to a shady spot it went down to 18 degrees. The air temperature is more like 12 to 14 degrees. So be careful where you hang it and don't expect an accurate reading.
I bought this one because you can attach it securely top and bottom, so it doesn't swing about in the wind. Good in that respect.
